Perm announced the results of projects implementation under “the City Is Us” competition

The competition was held in 10 nominations, with total competition registration amounting to 177 applicants and total grants fund equaling 22.4 million Rubles.

The competition participants were addressed by Perm City Mayor Aleksey Demkin, Chair of the City Duma (City Council) Dmitry Malyutin, council members, competition board and experts. 

Perm City has over 2,000 registered and active NGOs.  To support their activities, Perm established the annual competition of social projects entitled “The City Is Us”. In 2021 the competition started in January and the projects were assessed and  laureates were announced in May.   The competition was held in 10 nominations, with total competition registration from NGOs amounting to 177 applications and total grants fund equaling 22.4.  

During the year the competition winners implemented the projects organizing the events, and the popularity of the latter is a clear sign of the city’s civil society activeness and involvement.

– This is the second year under pandemic limitations, but you manage to find the opportunities to bring to life the projects that are of vital importance for the city and its residents.  I am grateful to all competition participants for being active citizens, for their commitment and willingness to put their efforts into development of Perm.  It is   your contribution and enthusiasm that make the city change for the best, said Aleksey Demkin. 

All the participants received the competition diplomas and special prizes. The event finished with a discussion of results, exchange of opinions, where the participants expressed their hope for the  competition to continue in the coming 2022.   

The competition is organized by the City Administration on an annual basis aiming at developing partnership relationships between local government bodies and NGOs, as well as stimulating creativity and active involvement of residents.
